While I agree the Twinax console/dumb terminal as stable as it gets, you
still have an exposure by only having a single device for your console.
If its stability you want, then throw away that Twinax card and replace it
with a LAN card and implement LAN console. You have just as much chance
of losing a LAN card as you do a Twinax card. And now your maintain the
ability to remotely administer your server from anywhere you can connect
to your network. Be it your desk, or in the comfort of your home.
If that is not enough, then take it a step further and keep your PC that
is direct attached and have it be an alternate console. Configure the PC
with both the LAN console connection (Primary console) and a direct
attached connection (Alternate console). That way you can use the PC as
your primary method of accessing the server. Use remote desktop sharing
or PC Anywhere or what ever your fancy to remotely connect to that PC from
anywhere in your network. In the event the console goes down, no worries
just connect from your work laptop or PC via the LAN console.
With this setup you have two paths (redundancy) into your server. Both of
which afford you the ability to control the server as if you were standing
directly in front of it.

Because unlike the operations navigator, the operations console, and the
remote console, the green screen twin-ax console never, ever goes down.
Forever and Amen. ;)
