We are a small manufacturer on a P10 tier AS/400. We have a few
homegrown programs and a few users that are green screen adverse.

I am looking for some kind of solution that we could map a few (five or
so) green screens to some kind of GUI interfact for approximately 5
users (president, CFO, and a couple of sales guys.)

I know Jwalk by Seagull is the prominent solution for this problem, but
it is simply cost prohibitive for an organization our size and the
scope of what we are looking to do. We are not software developers for
the masses nor do we resell any of our programs.

Does anyone know of a product in this area? Does Seagull make a
"Jwalk-Lite" app for someone with our circumstances?

Any info is much appreciated. TIA.

Have you looked at the iSeries Access for Web?

You need to be running an application server, but the 5250 access is
friendlier to those types. (For light use only for the rest of us...)

If you want to something a bit more for individual applications, Webfacing
isn't all that hard...

For simple stuff you might look at what Bob mentioned, this does
require websphere to run though. Might look at HTTP server called HATS
or *WEBFACING etc. Take a look at Jacada's products www.jacada.com

Another avenue to investigate from Linoma:

Haven't tried it, no nothing much about it, but we do use a couple of their
other products.

For a really simple solution, try HATSLE from IBM (included with
operating system, although it may not be installed). I tried this
with a few users to replace green screens, and they liked it. Bigger
volume users found it slower than green screens. If you want to
progress further, WebFacing is an alternative. No program changes need
to be made.
