Using a remote connection, I want to be able to use all of the client
access features:

+ tn5250 emulation
+ printing
etc

which work perfectly on the intranet, but don't work outside.
we are currently using a (pretty good) telnet client (putty), however,
we need more.
we need all the stuff that client access allows us to do, therefore,
I need to punch some holes, I mean, open ports on the firewall,
can anyone help me?
which ports do I have to open to allow full client access SNA
cominucation?
is there a document available on the net?

thanks in advance, for your kind help.

Yes. And as usual, you can find the answer by using Google.

I searched using this query:

http://www.google.com/search?q=iseries+client+access+ports+firewall+open

The second hit was this IBM document:

http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/access/fwoverview.htm

Which contains a looong list with ports used by client access for
a variety of services.

These ports are:

23, 449, 8470-8476, 8480, 9480, 5555, 55556
446, 448, 5110, 992, 9470-9476

For basic operation, only 23, 449 and 8476 are required. For
printers without ssl, you would also need 8474.
